I had a great man as a father. I was basically a good father, though I made a ton of mistakes. Now, I am a live-in grandfather, and see that the best tribute to my work is the way my son is tending to his child. He is off to a good start.

My heart does ache for those who had a miserable experience with their fathers. Maybe the misfit never had modeling from his own father, or maybe he never really wanted to be one. My hope is that the mistreated sons can turn it around and be good fathers, and that the mistreated daughters choose someone who will give them the love that Daddy Dearest did not.
